Email Address: Shana@WinWithBlack.com
Occupation/Vocation: Attorney
Resident of El Paso County: 6 years
Experience
What experience (personal, professional, other) would you bring to your role as Representative that will benefit our state?
As a Christian Conservative Constitutional Candidate, I will bring strength, courage, conviction, and a commitment to integrity to my role as Representative. As an attorney for more than 20 years, I have extensive experience in debate and public speaking. When pit against bullies and strong opponents in and out of the courtroom, who I defeat handily time and time again, I am NOT intimidated in the face of strong opposition. My bravery and commitment to integrity is a winning formula. The seat of House District 18 must be fought for, and I am prepared and willing to get in the ring and WIN that seat for the people of HD18.
Vision
What is your vision for being a Colorado State Representative?
To fight for conservative values and reverse the damage done by the leftist Democrats over the past twenty years.
Election Reform
Do you believe that elections in Colorado should be conducted differently? Should voters in Colorado be required to verify their identity and residential status in the respective counties in which they vote? Are you in favor of a single-day, in-person voting system consisting of all-paper ballots? Why or why not?
I believe voters should be required to verify their identity and residential status. I support a single- day, in-person paper ballot election day.
TABOR
What is your position on the Taxpayers Bill of Rights (TABOR)?
I support TABOR and the limitations it places on government.
Education
As a State Representative, what will you do to improve the education of our K – 12 students? What is your position on parental authority in education, including school choice?
I believe parents are the authority over their children’s education. Parents should have the freedom to choose the education that will work best for their children. Parents should have full and unrestricted access to education materials and curriculum. Parent participation in education is vital. School choice and vouchers are excellent free market solutions to improve the quality of education to our K – 12 students.
Government Authority
Do you believe that the government has the legal power and authority to dictate what a person does with his or her body? If so, how?
No. The government only has the powers granted to it in the Constitution. The Constitution limits the power of the government to intervene in the lives of the people, including dictating what a person does with his or her body.
Protecting the Most Vulnerable
As a Representative, how would you seek to protect the most vulnerable in our state, including the lives of the unborn, the trafficked, and the elderly?
As an allied attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, the world’s largest legal organization committed to protecting religious freedom, free speech, marriage and family, parental rights, and the sanctity of life, I am committed to these values and principles. I would like to see a repeal of 22-1279, which legalizes abortion even after full term birth. Colorado’s status of “Sanctuary State” also deserves attention, as sanctuary jurisdictions often turn a blind eye to human trafficking, protecting criminals from foreign countries, rather than our most vulnerable citizens. I would seek to scuttle the “Office of Public Guardianship” as a failed pilot program, replacing it with a policy that provides the safe, compassionate care that our elderly deserve.
1st Amendment
What will you do as Colorado State Representative to protect our 1st Amendment rights to: the free exercise of religion, freedom of speech, peaceably assembly, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances, all of which are becoming more difficult to exercise in America (and around the world)?
I will advocate for religious freedom, free speech, and the right to peaceably assemble, our most cherished liberties.
2nd Amendment
Do you believe that gun ownership is a civil right, and what are your positions in regards to red flag laws, magazine capacity bans, legislation that regulates gun storage, and permitless “Constitutional carry”?
I support the 2nd Amendment fully. It is the responsibility of gun owners to safely store their firearms. Red Flag laws, magazine capacity bans, and other such legislation are an encroachment on our liberty and right to keep and bear arms.
Infrastructure Spending
How do you believe that tax revenue in Colorado should be best utilized to improve our infrastructure?
A system of prioritization of projects, and free market competitive bidding.

Occupation/Vocation: Satellite Systems Engineer
Military Background: Army Veteran
Resident of the El Paso County: 21 years
Experience
What experience (personal, professional, other) would you bring to your role as Representative that will benefit our state?
I was a member of the city council for the City of Fountain for nearly 8 years. I am an Army veteran, a husband, father, grandfather, satellite systems engineer, and a long-time volunteer at my church. I have held many leadership roles throughout my career including working with senior military leaders (Army, Air Force, Space Force), numerous elected officials throughout the region, and numerous community boards and commissions.
Vision
What is your vision for being a Colorado State Representative?
I will immediately introduce Defend the Guard legislation to protect our men and women in the Colorado National Guard from being deployed in unconstitutional wars. I will work to reduce the size of the state government. I will strongly oppose any increases in taxes or fees and will work to reduce or eliminate existing taxes and fees. I will strongly oppose any mandates from the governor’s office. And I will work to ensure our state government is accountable to us.
Election Reform
Do you believe that elections in Colorado should be conducted differently? Should voters in Colorado be required to verify their identity and residential status in the respective counties in which they vote? Are you in favor of a single-day, in-person voting system consisting of all-paper ballots? Why or why not?
I strongly support and will work to return to single-day, in-person voting using paper ballots and requiring a government issued picture ID to receive a ballot at the polls. Additionally, I strongly oppose same-day voter registration and will work to repeal it.
TABOR
What is your position on the Taxpayers Bill of Rights (TABOR)?
I strongly support TABOR and believe it should be extended to ALL fees being implemented by any state or local government entity within Colorado.
Education
As a State Representative, what will you do to improve the education of our K – 12 students? What is your position on parental authority in education, including school choice?
I strongly support school choice and very strongly support parental authority in education, with the understanding that the parents then bear the responsibility to be involved, as well. I will work to hold school districts accountable for the educational use of the taxpayer funding they already receive.
Government Authority
Do you believe that the government has the legal power and authority to dictate what a person does with his or her body? If so, how?
I do NOT believe the government has any legal, constitutional, ethical, or moral power, authority, or right to dictate what a person does with his or her own body at ANY time. And I will work to get the government out of our private and personal choices in these regards.
Protecting the Most Vulnerable
As a Representative, how would you seek to protect the most vulnerable in our state, including the lives of the unborn, the trafficked, and the elderly?
To protect the unborn, I will work tirelessly with faith communities and other pro-life organizations to help them promote pro-life alternatives in ways that demonstrate unconditional love toward women facing these choices. I will work tirelessly with law enforcement at all levels to make Colorado the kind of place that human traffickers do not even dare to operate. And I will work to remove barriers to proper, high-quality elder care as well as strengthening laws against harming the elderly.
1st Amendment
What will you do as Colorado State Representative to protect our 1st Amendment rights to: the free exercise of religion, freedom of speech, peaceably assembly, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances, all of which are becoming more difficult to exercise in America (and around the world)?
I will work continually to repeal any portion of the Colorado Revised Statutes that restricts ANY of our 1st Amendment rights. And I will work with our US senators and congressional delegates to do the same at the federal level. I will also work with “big tech” to return freedom of speech on those platforms.
2nd Amendment
Do you believe that gun ownership is a civil right, and what are your positions in regards to red flag laws, magazine capacity bans, legislation that regulates gun storage, and permitless “Constitutional carry”?
The 2nd Amendment includes the words “shall not be infringed” and I believe we ALL have the right to permitless open Constitutional Carry already. I support permitless open carry. I oppose magazine capacity bans. I strongly oppose red flag laws.
Infrastructure Spending
How do you believe that tax revenue in Colorado should be best utilized to improve our infrastructure?
As a libertarian, I strongly oppose the government taking taxes in any form for any reason and I will seek to privatize infrastructure investment such as having trucking companies invest in road repairs since they stand to benefit the most. In the meantime, I will work to repeal any green-energy subsidies and invest those in our rapidly failing infrastructure instead. And we need to hold the huge chemical companies accountable to remedy the PFOS/PFA problem they created with our water.

Christian voting
Voting is a simple, yet significant way to do something about public policy in our country. As people of faith, we will be held accountable for our actions, as well as our lack of action. (Luke 12:48)
Biblical worldview
By diligently learning, applying, and trusting God’s truths in every area of our lives, we can begin to develop a deep comprehensive faith that will stand against the unrelenting tide of our culture’s non-biblical ideas.
Vote your values
The issues of the day change. Political parties and platforms change. God’s Word never changes. The vote of every Christian should be based on the principles of Scripture and not persuasive personalities.
Electing righteous leaders
Bad governance and our loss of freedom is the direct result of the church’s failure to disciple. When the citizenry do not seek to be obedient to God’s Law, they vote in wicked and corrupt candidates, who then trample underfoot the God-given liberties of the people.
