Do you believe that elections should be conducted differently in order to ensure integrity and confidence?  Should people be required to show proof of citizenship in order to register to vote, and/or be required to show a government-issued ID to cast their vote?

What are your thoughts on the establishment clause; and if elected, what will you do to protect your constituents’ rights to freedom of religion, speech, peaceable assembly, and petitioning the government for a redress of grievances?

I strongly support the constitutional protections guaranteed by the First Amendment, including freedom of religion, speech, peaceful assembly, boycotts, and petitioning the government. The establishment clause is essential because it protects both religious freedom and pluralism by ensuring the government does not impose or favor one religion over another. In a diverse democracy, people of all faiths and those with no faith deserve equal protection under the law.

As a U.S. Senator, I will defend civil liberties, protect the right to protest and organize, oppose government overreach targeting marginalized communities, and ensure Coloradans can participate fully in civic and political life without fear, intimidation, or discrimination.

There has been a rise in incidences of anti-Americanism and antisemitism in Colorado and across our nation. What do you view as the causes, and what should be done to address these issues?

I believe the rise in antisemitism, Islamophobia, political extremism, and growing distrust in our institutions is fueled by disinformation, fear-mongering, economic instability, and corporations that profit from division and scapegoating. Elected officials must condemn antisemitic and Islamophobic violence clearly and consistently.

Patriotism means defending the democratic values at the core of our country: equal rights, religious freedom, free speech, peaceful civic participation, and the rule of law. Criticizing government policies is not anti-American; violence, political intimidation, and hatred toward entire communities are. Addressing these challenges requires civic education, strong community partnerships, violence prevention, and leadership willing to reject hate and defend the dignity, safety, and self-determination of all people.

If elected, what initiatives would you champion to improve Colorado’s economy, including policies on water, energy, and other resources, and how would you make your office more fiscally responsible?

Colorado’s long-term economic stability depends on responsible stewardship of our natural resources and smart public investment. I believe we must prioritize water conservation, drought resilience, wildfire mitigation, and protection of the Colorado River system because our agricultural economy, rural communities, and future growth depend on it. We should also continue expanding clean energy production in ways that create good-paying jobs, lower energy costs, and strengthen grid reliability.

Fiscal responsibility also means ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent effectively and transparently. I support stronger oversight of federal spending, banning congressional stock trading, reducing wasteful corporate subsidies, and focusing investments on infrastructure, housing, education, and economic opportunities that produce long-term benefits for Colorado communities.

If elected, how would you help improve the educational outcomes for Colorado’s students, and what is your position on parental authority in K-12 education, including school choice and parental notification?

My mom was my second-grade teacher, and I’ve experienced firsthand the transformative impact of education on my family’s life. Colorado students need strong public schools, well-paid educators, safe classrooms, and access to mental health care, nutrition, housing stability, and early childhood education. I support fully funding public education, expanding universal childcare, strengthening career and technical education, and ending student debt so every child has a real path to opportunity.

Parents should be respected as essential partners in their children’s education, and schools should communicate clearly with families. Public education must also protect every student’s dignity, privacy, safety, and right to learn. I oppose dismantling the Department of Education and voucher schemes that weaken public schools.
